ABOUT "SUNNYVALE":
“I was born in Sunnyvale, CA and lived there until April of 2005 when I moved to go to film school in Los Angeles, where I have been ever since. The rest of my family now lives out of state so there isn’t really a “home” for me to go home to anymore. I get nostalgic for my bland suburb’s quirks, such as a water tower painted like a giant can of Libby’s fruit cocktail. I hope to make it back up there someday to play a round of mini golf and sit next to the statue at the public library.
This song is a love letter to a place that has transformed from a small agricultural community into a bustling village of high tech companies that draw professionals and their families from all over the world. I’ve been gone so long that I hardly recognize the city when I come back for a visit, but my memories are encased in a golden cocoon of amber nostalgia - much like the mosquito from Jurassic Park.”

LYRICS:
A Haunted Toys R Us
Made my hometown famous
A statue sits and reads
One book is all that he needs
Sunnyvale is where I hail from
In the heart of the South Bay
You can diss it, I still miss it
Ever since I moved away
The orchards are long gone
There’s strip malls where their names live on
Downtown is just one block
You know that murphy street rocks
Sunnyvale is where I hail from
In the heart of the South Bay
You can diss it, I still miss it
Ever since I moved away
A city logo like an ice cream cone
It’s worth a visit for Golf Land alone
Sunnyvale to me you’ll always be
A land of stucco and glass
Through which several freeways pass
One suburb in a long line
But damn it that one was mine
Sunnyvale is where I hail from
In the heart of the South Bay
You can diss it, I still miss it
Ever since I moved away
