“I wrote this for the keyboard player of a band called Fairview. I played guitar in Stunt Monkey and we were often sharing the stage with her band. I burned this song onto a CD-R and gave it to her after a gig in Longview, WA. I never saw her after that and thought she hated it. More than a decade later we connected on social media and she said she dug it.”

ABOUT "THE SPACECASE EP":
"This collection of songs is a sampler platter of my past 25 years of songwriting. From cassette to computer, using samples from childhood toys and singing about sports bars and girls I met on tour. Resurrecting and re-recording riffs I wrote before I was old enough to drive. Feelings of grief, joy, hope and silliness."

LYRICS:
Grace, gazing at your face on the Fairview website
I feel a need to write
This song that concentrates what I feel
Into a disc that spins like a skateboard wheel
I first saw you playing the keys
And belting out sweet harmonies
I felt like I was the ivories cos you were
Inadvertently playing me
You like the Simpsons
Yeah me too
Their DVDs and thoughts of you
Get me through these long van rides
Get me through these long van rides
You ride around in a van just like me
Staring out the windows at the blurring trees
We’ve played gigs together before
Do you remember me anymore?
I usually forget other bands
But I want you to understand
That I think you’re gifted and unique
Maybe our vans will pass on the 5 next week.
